December 2024 – The TMIC Li Node is excited to introduce our latest innovation: the SHARP (Small-Scale Highly Accurate and Reproducible Platform) Cell Metabolome Assay: SHARP-CMA, designed specifically for researchers working with small amounts of cells. This cutting-edge service leverages the power of liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) to deliver high-sensitivity metabolome profiling with minimal sample requirements.

Powered by the Thermo Scientific Vanquish NEO LC linked to the Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Exploris 240 Mass Spectrometer, this platform allows researchers to profile metabolites with as few as 5,000 cells per sample. Despite the reduced sample size, the platform offers enhanced peak pair detection and high-confidence metabolite identification across multiple channels, including amine/phenol, carboxyl, hydroxyl, and carbonyl submetabolome channels.

This assay is particularly well-suited for applications in biomarker discovery, drug development, and cellular biology, where sample availability is often a limiting factor. By offering robust performance and unmatched sensitivity, SHARP-CMA opens the door to new possibilities in cell research.

Key highlights include:

  • Low Cell Numbers: Advanced Chemical Isotope Labeling LC-MS technology designed to analyze samples with as few as 5,000 cells. Ideal for working with scarce or valuable cell materials.
  • Comprehensive Metabolome Coverage: Optimized separation and ionization enhance metabolite detection and high-confidence metabolite identification. Detect up to 700 metabolites and 1,050 metabolite candidates from the Basic SHARP-CMA, 950 metabolites and 2,000 metabolite candidates with the Elevated SHARP-CMA, and a further 1,200 metabolites and 3,900 metabolite candidates with the Comprehensive SHARP-CMA.
  • High Accuracy and Precision: Unique “one to one” internal standard approach enables superior quantification.
  • Cutting-Edge Instrumentation: Powered by the Thermo Scientific Vanquish NEO LC system integrated with the Orbitrap Exploris 240 Mass Spectrometer.

At TMIC Li Node, we continue to push the boundaries of metabolomics research by delivering innovative tools that meet the diverse needs of the scientific community. This new SHARP-CMA aligns with our mission to support groundbreaking discoveries and accelerate advancements in life sciences research.
